location: Central Copenhagen
The
Mermaid hotel Copenhagen is located a short distance
from the town square. The Mermaid benefits from being
both near the shopping streets in Copenhagen and the
main tourist attractions, yet still within walking
distance to the main station. The hotel has great appeal
in the summer time because there is both a courtyard and
roof-terrace. From the latter guests can watch the
famous firework displays from Tivoli twice a week in the
summer.
Adjacent to the hotel is the English style ëJohn
Bullí pub which is popular with guests and the public
alike and certainly the place to be when any major
football matches are on.
The main bistro-style restaurant to one side of the
lobby is where guests take breakfast (cold buffet other
than boiled eggs). Lunch and dinner are also served here
with a Danish menu.Rooms are fairly simple in style but
feature all the usual three-star amenities. Although
thereís no mini-bar thereís a fully stocked
coin-operated fridge by the reception where drinks can
be purchased 24 hours a day.
Most single rooms have single beds only and almost
all rooms of all types have a shower instead of bathtub.
The hotel is certainly a good option for families as
there a four-bed rooms (double with two extra beds for
children).
This plainly decorated hotel is very friendly and
well located making it a good choice for budget
travellers and families. |
